Thanks for checking out the Steelheads Booster Club website! We are a fun family-oriented organization, and participate in great charitable causes, including funding scholarships for youth hockey here in the Treasure Valley.
All funds raised for the Booster Club are dispensed throughout the season on players’ or their families’ needs through the Lending Closet Program; or for hosting events such as our pot luck Christmas Party to make the players feel at home here in Boise. We are non-profit and all funds raised go for this purpose, or to charity.
General Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at our new location, Perkins at Broadway and Front Streets Downtown Boise at 7:00.
Annual Activities include:
Friday Family Fun Night
Every Friday, join in face painting, art projects and sign painting at the Booster Club table
Meet and Greet:
For Boosters only! Greet the team and their families, and mingle with the coaching staff and organization prior to the season start. Tour the team locker rooms and facilities. Fun for the whole family!
First Skate with Players:
Skate with the guys after the game, for members only.
Winterland Parade in Downtown Boise
Join Steelheads and Blue for fun in this Christmas Parade
Toys for Tots Toy Toss:
Our signature event, our goal each season is to cover the ice with toys! Bring a stuffed, unbreakable toy or purchase from the Booster Club prior to the game. When the Steelheads score their first goal of the game, everyone throws the toys on the ice, without penalty to the team. All toys and sales benefit the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, and are distributed locally to make a happier Christmas for less fortunate children in our area.
Christmas Banquet:
A lot of fun for the whole family, this event is a real treat for the team. Booster members bring Christmas stockings for players and staffers and we enjoy a great homemade potluck courtesy of boosters. The whole party is topped off by an entertaining round robin gift exchange between the guys. Good holiday fun for all!
Second Skate with Players:
After-game skate with the players, members only.
Awards Banquet: Sunday, March 29, 5:00
Thank the Steelheads and staff for a great season as they prepare for the playoffs! This year’s event will be hosted at the Basque Center in Downtown Boise.
Road Trips
This year, Booster members will be traveling to watch our team play and cheer them on.
Jersey Auction:
Team jerseys are auctioned off after the last home game of the season. Proceeds benefit the Booster Club yearly activities and help fund the Lending Closet.
Steelhead for a Night – Have you ever wondered what the coach and players really say during the game? Sign up at the Booster table and get the best seats in the house right next to the players’ bench where you are in the action of the game from the drop of the puck. For $100 you get two tickets to the game, a radio interview with voice of the Idaho Steelheads Doug Plagens, a ride on the Zamboni and Steelheads merchandise. Let us know here on the website if you are interested and we’ll get in touch to get you scheduled!
Lending Closet – Provides household items for player apartments such as sheets, blankets, comforters, towels, pots and pans, dishes, cleaning supplies, and a “get started” basket of toilet paper, dish soap, paper towels, and other amenities. The club accepts donations, just bring them to Booster Club table or contact Rocci Johnson at 841-4743.
ISBC Youth Hockey Scholarship – The Booster Club sets aside funds each season to assist in scholarship awards for talented local athletes who are interested in taking up hockey, but are unable to afford the cost of the sport. All funds go to the Idaho Amateur Ice Hockey Foundation and support youth hockey right here in the Treasure Valley.
